Women of Color Question Brad Pitt’s Casting Decision
The story surrounding Daniel Pearl’s violent death is one well worth telling. His widow did just that in her book and on Oprah. Brad Pitt and his production company bought the movie rights to her story and Angelina Jolie is presently portraying Mariane Pearl on a set in India. It’s too dangerous in Pakistan, the country where Danny Pearl was beheaded by his abductors.
Some groups are upset that Angelina Jolie, a white woman, is portraying Mariane Pearl who has mixed heritage including Afro-Cuban and Dutch. Mariane herself had this to say:
“I am delighted that Angelina Jolie will be playing my role in the adaptation of my book, I deeply admire her work and what she is committed to.”
In my opinion it’s good casting. Angelina’s star power will get the film seen by more people. Angelina looks a bit like Mariane as far as face shape and features go. I think Brad will stick to not commenting about the small controversy because he can’t really emphatically defend casting his mate as the star.
Why are the People of Irvine, California So Interested in Tom Cruise?
I love a conspiracy theory. When I saw on Google Trends that Irvine, California accounts for the most searches for Tom Cruise of any city, I was off and running. I haven’t come up with a good theory yet. The 1953 version of War of the Worlds used marines from the area as extras. Verizon Wireless is headquartered there. Make your own darn theory.
Actually, here’s one. Blizzard Entertainment is based in Irvine. Maybe WoW is actually a recruiting tool for scientology.

Daniel Radcliffe is appearing nude in a play. The scene reportedly involves a simulated sex act while on horseback. I’m assuming it’s also a simulated horseback.
Paris Hilton: Polls are not Cute at All
I could hardly believe the results that I was shown after i clicked on an online poll asking me if I was sick of Paris Hilton. At that time, a full 92% of the respondants claim to be sick of her. I immediately went to look at google trends. It appears that people are still interested despite their poll answers. And if it’s any consolation for Paris, POLES are totally pro Paris

Something tells me that Brad Pitt wishes he was back filming in the underpopulated Canadian Prairie. India is getting pretty hectic as Brad and Angelina Jolie begin filming for an upcoming Biopic. Their security people are being accused of brutality by the paparazzi. The stars have been forced to flee paparazzi by rickshaw. Hey, that would be a great name for a fashion line: Paparazzi, by Rick Shaw.

Shakira is smart and talented and beautiful. She doesn’t get much media attention because she doesn’t do desperate or stupid things in a transparent attempt to get attention.
She heads a charitable foundation that is helping thousands of children whose families have been displaced by internal conflicts. She hasn’t adopted any of them.
Paris Hilton Versus Shanna Moakler
“Paris Hilton’s alleged confrontation on Oct. 4 with former beauty queen Shanna Moakler of “Dancing With the Stars” is just the latest controversy in her roller-coaster life. The 25-year-old hotel heiress filed a police report alleging that Moakler had shouted obscenities and punched her in the face at a Los Angeles nightclub.”
This is one of those late night altercations where both parties go to file conflicting police reports after they have stopped of somewhere to empty their purses and pockets. Here is a picture of Paris and her publicist/purse carrier at the station. Paris’ publicist denies that Paris is dating Moakler’s ex-husband Travis Barker, but it says they are dating in wikipedia, so it must be true. Moakler has three children. Two were fathered by Travis and her eldest was fathered by boxer Oscar De La Hoya. Maybe he taught her the alleged uppercut. Shanna was on the tired reality show Dancing With The Stars with Jerry Springer. Maybe he gave her some tips on giving the people what they want. Or maybe, just maybe, Paris is lying about the punch. Shanna claims that Paris’ ex came out of the crowd and twisted her arm before pouring a drink on her and pushing her down some steps. That seems pretty much in character. Paris sure knows how to pick them.
