Angelina Jolie is kind of sarcastically deified by the artist. Jolie is floating in the sky with a Walmart checkout area below her and her children held close. Influences as far as the classical posing of the figures are Van Dyke and Raphael.

I would have to say that the work was probably designed to elicit media attention in exactly the same way as last year’s nude Britney Spears sculpture. It may be a matter of taste, but I would say that this painting is ten times better than that sculpture. It will not get as much attention because Angelina Jolie is not naked.
