Leave Furniture to the Professionals
I used to have a problem. That problem was a compulsion to look at furniture that people in my family wanted/needed and saying “I can make one of those myself.”
I think my wife lived in fear of those seven words. They often meant that weeks, months, sometimes years later I would build something that was almost adequate. With shelves, kitchen islands and stuff like that, the first prototype very often became extra basement furniture.
I think the day that I gave up on the big children’s bunk bed project was a changing day for all of us. I came to recognize the value of the design and engineering and specialized hardware that goes into quality furniture. Check out this page of lea furniture, bedroom sets for kids. I can ma…..No, no I can’t. This stuff is really great. Anyway, I can still use one of my tools, the measuring tape. There are pages for each bedroom set with detailed dimensions of every piece so you can make sure it will work out in the room you have in mind.
