There are a lot of FM radio stations that also stream online these days. Many people have a tendency to listen to a local favorite or a station from their old hometown. The thing is it is a WORLD WIDE WEB. You can listen to radio from anywhere in the world. This can come in handy if you want romantic music at home but you don’t want to be distracted by banter. Just find a radio station where the DJ’s speak in a foreign language, preferably one that you find sexy, maybe a Kazakstan station.

If you are planning a long distance move in the future, why not start listening to a station broadcasting from your future hometown. This can help you learn the local slang and you can hear about loca events and businesses. We did this ourselves in 2005 and we were a bit surprised to find out that hardly anybody talked like the DJ’s. But we did pick up a few terms that were specific to the area.

Why not just type a ‘w’ and three random letters and a dot and ‘com’ and see what radio station pops up? Actually don’t do it, I tried and it was about five tries before I got a radio station, WPIG.com, and that wasn’t really random. They don’t stream on the Internet.
