Greenberg’s Boxing Trunks
BackgammonMasters.com has purchased pro boxer Roman Greenberg’s boxing trunks.
They didn’t need a pair of shorts. The site is all about backgammon. Buying the shorts, is a very public way to help finance the 24 year old Russian born Jewish boxer while he trains for his upcoming challenges. The shorts will be auctioned off after a big WBO match. The proceeds, which will hopefully be well in excess of $100,000, will go towards charities for distressed Jewish and Arab youths.
Greenberg has a record of 25 and 0 with 17 knock-outs. He recently defeated Michael Simms at a match in Madison Square Gardens. He has an Orthodox stance. This has nothing to do with his religious beliefs.
Obviously, boxing is not a sport that brings peace and understanding to the World, although with good sportsmanship a boxer can be an ambassador of sorts for his own people. Mohammed Ali is notable as a man who was bigger in some ways than the sport that made him famous.
Non violent games like backgammon are an interest that can be shared by people of different cultures and faiths. A game which is essentially the same as Backgammon is played in most Arab countries. It goes by the name Tavla.
BackgammonMasters.com is a place where you can experience backgammon online, they have video tutorials hosted by a cartoon tiger.
