I am not sure why Jessica Simpson’s endorsement of an acne treatment program has escaped my attention up until now. I think that it it a really good move on the part of the product and the celebrity. Jessica needed to start seeming a little more real. You don’t get any more real than pimples. I also think it is good for teenage girls who can be notoriously self conscious to see that someone who is that beautiful has to deal with the same problems that they do.

The Proactiv 3 step treatment and prevention system can improve an acne sufferer’s situation immensely. I used products with the active ingredient back when I was a teen. Two of the steps of proactiv solution contain prescription strength Benzoyl Peroxide. This medical ingredient kills the bacteria that cause acne. The reason teenagers are more prone to acne is because hormonal changes cause glands in the skin to produce an excessive amount of oil. The oil can mix with dead skin tissue and clog pores, creating an ideal environment for the bacteria to grow. Describing it in detail makes it even grosser doesn’t it? There is a phenomenon that some celebrities rely on and others dread. The American public has a very short attention span. I was looking at the list of celebrities that I considered worthy of their own category back when this blog was primarily celebrity news and gossip. Many of them do not enter the consciousness of a typical American on even a weekly basis anymore. I don’t watch television. Maybe those various shows that have a capital E in the title remind people.

My point is Britney Spears and lesser entities like Lindsay Lohan use public misbehavior as a device to maintain the public interest. Britney protests the attention, but I think she lives in constant fear of losing it. People like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie live their lives largely in private and are talked about less and less in the tabloids and elsewhere despite the immeasurable degree to which their relationship initially captured the public imagination

I don’t follow the real estate values in California very closely. The climate is very nice there. They call it a Mediterranean climate. Since I am not a celebrity, when I decided to leave Canada for a warmer place I went to the Mediterranean. Houses are very expensive to purchase here, but they are surprisingly cheap to rent.

I find out about house prices in California when celebrities get married and when they get divorced. Avril Lavigne and her new husband are shelling out about $10 million. Jessica Simpson and Nick Lache sold their Newlyweds home to a d-list actor for something over $3 million. Tom Green has irrevocably altered his nice 7 figure bungalow by retrofitting it into a broadcast studio for his web channel. And Steve O peed on his chairs.

I can understand why busy actors and actresses might need to have a house in Southern California, it’s the singers that I don’t get. Britney Spears claims to hate the spotlight, but she continues to live in the midst of it. She owns several homes including one in Southern California. If you are a smart celebrity homes can be a great investment. Brad Pitt has a house fetish. He likes houses that can be used as projects. He has had generous block parties to appease his neighbors and make up for all the construction. He is also too busy to actually spend much time living in the houses that he acquires and works on.

All the really HOT celebrities are blinging their phones up with lead crystals. This is a California thing. I don’t have a Tom Green category on my blog even though I tend to mention him once or twice every few months. I am sticking this video from back in the 90’s when he was funny in the categories of all the single and/or promiscuous celebrities that he has a remote chance of having sex with. He might be irrelevant and bitter and irritable, but at least he is quite likely to have condoms. If they are the ones he bought in this video, get him to check the expiry date on the box. The quote and the clip are meant to contradict themselves in some respects. But you have to admit that, on her good days, the girl can sing a song. Ozzy’s voice is a little over-processed, but that was probably for the best.

There have been other moments when Jessica failed to pull off a performance, but her sister is more famous for her ability to not sing. The early excuse for Jessica’s bad performance this week was given by a representative wso attributed it to nervousness at being in the presence of her lifelong idol, Dolly Parton. Now other excuses are coming out including a supposed wardrobe malfunction. The words dress and rehearsal have been hanging around together since long before Jessica was born, maybe she could have jumped up and down a bit earlier in the day to test out the functionality of the wardrobe in question. Memorizing the lyrics of 9 to 5 might have been a good idea as well.

I am constantly seeing guys who have loads of talent and only a little fame latching onto women with no talent and lots of fame. I guess Joshua might have been put off by Paris Hilton’s behavior in this instance.

But picturing these two hanging out reminded me of how I feel about John Mayer and Jessica Simpson . It’s depressing that guys who have creative voices like this have public relationships with vacuous tabloid darlings. I guess I have to open to the idea that Paris and Jessica (who, yes, CAN sing) have more to offer in a relationship than it would appear through the media filter. Or it could be that when struggling musicians start getting invites to parties with celebrities they crave acceptance so badly that they make really bad decisions about who to date or socialize with. And, from the viewpoint of the ladies, there just aren’t enough Tommys and Kidds and Nicks to go around these days.

Andy Dick loves Jessica Simpson, in that symbiotic Hollywood way. The two worked together on a New Mexico movie set for weeks. Dick describes Simpson as a sweet, down-home country girl. During the same guest appearance on Tom Green, Andy Dick told a caller that he liked younger women. Andy is 40, Jessica Simpson is 25.
