I like Dick Cheney. I mean, he is not pretentious. He is no more or less evil than he lets on. The crazy speculation about a naked lady reflected in his shades in an official photograph is amusing. It is the closest that he has ever been to seeming sexy. Maybe his sexiness is the real reason for his steadfast refusal to run for President. He knows that his nation is not yet ready for a sexy President.

By the way, it is just the reflection of the VP’s hand gripping his pole.

I think that Dog the Bounty Hunter must be looking for a plan B with regard to his television career at this point. I have a suggestion. Why not create a non reality show that features Duane Chapman and Cordozar Calvin Broadus, Jr. as costars?

It could be a sitcom where both guys are single fathers and they decide to move in together to share parenting duties. It could be called the Dog House.

They could instead choose to make a detective show. Having a detective team where one guy is black and the other guy isn’t would be pretty ground breaking.

If they wanted to really stretch their creativity, they could release an album…

Kathy Hilton told Fox News that her daughter has “never been alone so this is, as she calls it, a real time out.”

The idea of giving a child a Time Out was developed in the early 60’s by Montrose Wolf, PhD. and child psychologist Arthur Statts. Statts had the following synopsis of the technique in a 1968 work:

“I would put her in her crib and indicate that she had to stay there until she stopped crying. If we were in a public place, I would pick her up and go outside.”In brief, the idea is to keep the child isolated for a limited period of time, intended to allow it to calm down, learn coping skills and discourage inappropriate behavior. It is also a time for parents to separate feelings of anger toward the child for their behavior and develop a plan for discipline.”

Ideally, this technique is to be used consistently and start early in a child’s life. Waiting until your child is given a court ordered time out at the age of 26 is not effective parenting.

My parents didn’t do time outs and I still turned out ok. I was not as consistent as I should have been with disciplining my kids, but time outs have turned out to be one of the most effective techniques. The other really great tool is taking away electronics. I think Paris Hilton’s parents should have been doing this from the start. The World would be an entirely different place if Kathy had taken away her child’s night vision video camera.

Do you think that 23 days of time out is more or less than the total duration of all of the childhood time outs that Paris should have recieved? Time outs have been in use in my household for almost ten years. Guessing an average of ten minutes per day, that adds up to about 25 days of time outs. Apparently I am stricter than Kathy Hilton and the Los Angeles court system combined.

First off, a caveat…I think Sara Silverman is very sexy and Paris Hilton is just barely sexy at all.

This is my personal, superficial taste and their actual personalities do not play a huge role.

As far as judging these two people by their actions, I have a few points to make. Sarah Silverman is vulgar in her performances and she is most probably less vulgar in her everyday life. Paris Hilton is the opposite.

Sarah Silverman provided the voice for a Comedy Central puppet that got into some unusual situations. The link goes to a soundboard. Choose Hadassa Guberman for your character and see what Sarah can say about Oprah without cracking up. She is a professional.

Paris Hilton once tried to make the case that her public persona is pretty much a character and that she is not like that at all. I think she was telling a half truth. She is fake ALL the time, hence, by default, the person we see is her. In her defense, when the cameras aren’t on she is probably much worse.

I was interested to see what NGTV was all about, so I went to their YouTube channel. I don’t like it. It is mediocre when they have B-list celebrities with nothing but themselves to promote. People like Andy Dick can be beyond the pale with language and overt sexual content in an organic way. What really offended me as a viewer was when it started to dawn on me that some of the A list talent that goes on NGTV to shill product use the F word in a very forced, unnatural way. I could be wrong. But I think that at least a few of the actors who are interviewed on this internet channel would be more comfortable being less vulgar, but have some obligation, or feel that the do. Editing could play a big part in my impressions as well.

NGTV is like the result of a nonconsentual mating of Entertainment Tonight and the Howard Stern Show.

The incongruous visage of Elliot Mintz, looking quite weary as he strode alongside Paris Hilton who was tittering along behind a beligerant Brandon Davis last year was oddly fascinating to me. His title is that of publicist, but he seems to carry a lot of purses.

I did a bit of research today and found out that he worked for John and Yoko and that he has been a broadcaster off and on for decades. Here is a podcast of him presenting the LOST LENNON TAPES:

The occurance this week of Paris publicly dismissing him in an effort to deflect blame for something she has been convicted of and then him continuing to work for her as if it was business as usual…makes me thing maybe there are LOST PARIS HILTON TAPES as well.

The footage of what some are describing as the simulated rape of a 14 year old girl on a concert stage in Trinidad is shocking and disturbing. I am not linking to it in any way. While the legal ramifications of his actions are up in the air, Akon has already found out in no uncertain terms what the financial fallout will be. His concert sponsor, Verizon, has put as much distance as possible between themselves and the rap performer. They have pulled out financially and they are busy erasing his name and visage from all promotional media.

The other performer on the scheduled tour was Gwen Stefani. I am not an authority on what kind of person Gwen is, but I think she should have been more sensible in her choice as far as sharing the stage. Someone of her calibre can’t say she didn’t have a choice. The first time I heard Akon’s one hit, I was taken aback that it was being broadcast. Partly because it’s offensive, but mostly because it is stupid.

Paris Hilton may actually serve time behind bars.

Elliot Mintz, her purse carrier/representative will now be in charge of handling all matters pertaining to situational homosexuality.

If Joe Francis, the purveyor of ‘Girls Gone Wild’ videos, were a character in an R. Crumb cartoon, he would be quite amusing. But his lasciviousness and petty criminality are not being inflicted on a two-dimensional fantasy world. He does that thing he does to American tax-payers and to their daughters. I don’t like him. If his main revenue stream ever slows to the point where he seriously considers making a reality show about his life, I will have to take steps beyond that of not having television. I will have to start taking television sets away from other people as well. I guess that would make me just as bad as him…no actually it wouldn’t.

Paris Hilton’s past association with this guy plays a big role in my low opinion of her.

The story is that malevolent geeks are using various permutations of the term Britney Spears Naked to try and trick people into opening e-mail attachments. This seems kind of silly considering the fact that her most private body part was featured prominently all over the internet in the past. I have never gone out of my way to look and I still ended up seeing it. I think the page on Technorati that has images that have been tagged had a half dozen copies of the same photo on it one day. It is just a vagina, noting to see, move along.
