It is amazing how stupid people can be. Maybe not wanting to have to explain things to kids is genetic. I am going to explain something to those particular parents. Sixty-five percent of US children now use the Internet. Actually that is a 2003 statistic. I am lazy and grabbed the highest ranking survey. I imagine it is close to 80% by now. I have it good authority that there are women kissing and men kissing and also some other stuff on the internet. Maybe you better skip the next ballgame and talk to your kids. You have a lot of explaining to do.

The list of movies and TV shows that are banned in China is surprisingly short on IMDB.com. I do not know why that is. It could be that Hollywood is doing business with the huge market in much the same way as Google. They might typically only shop acceptably pre-censored versions of their most salable products to the Chinese government. One very interesting trend on the IMDB involves movies that feature strong, violent female lead characters.

They like to ban Mel Gibson movies, too. They also banned Brokeback Mountain.

I noticed the Banned rating when I was researching a movie from 2005 that starred Ellen Page, who is everybody’s favorite actress these days.

MTV sucks in general. More specifically, the show My Super Sweet Sixteen gives aid and comfort to terrorists.

It does this by highlighting everything that is wrong with America while at the same time parading dozens of plausible, but very irritating, virgins in front of the camera. What are they thinking???

I haven’t been keeping up with television at all for a couple of years. I happened to see this show while vegging in a hotel room in Europe. I would be interested in seeing the SNL parody that Scarlet Johansson helped with in 2006.

Don’t buy a Mr. Hanky toy. Any child or middle-aged Floridian bald guy could make his or her own from Sculpey in about 30 seconds. In addition, the voice of Mr. Hanky is just about the easiest TV voice to impersonate. Here is a transcript of the South Park episode that introduced this adorable turd to the world. No real babies were killed in the making of this epic Family Guy show.

FOX has reached an end game with this level of violence. Family Guy has been canceled by FOX twice in the past.

It infuriates me that society in the United States is so permissive with regard to violence on TV and yet they are astoundingly prudish about sex. The dead baby on FOX will not result in any litigation and yet CBS was ordered to pay a record $550,000 fine for showing Janet Jackson’s breast. Family Guy is just a cartoon, but Janet Jackson’s breast isn’t real either.

The saddest thing is that violence is permitted because the kids are buying it. Luckily, some video game companies are making big changes. Rock Star has a new gay themed video game called Manhunt2, lots of gay sex and very little violence. It’s going to be a hot item this Christmas.

I think that Dog the Bounty Hunter must be looking for a plan B with regard to his television career at this point. I have a suggestion. Why not create a non reality show that features Duane Chapman and Cordozar Calvin Broadus, Jr. as costars?

It could be a sitcom where both guys are single fathers and they decide to move in together to share parenting duties. It could be called the Dog House.

They could instead choose to make a detective show. Having a detective team where one guy is black and the other guy isn’t would be pretty ground breaking.

If they wanted to really stretch their creativity, they could release an album…

I think the producers of this ‘Reality’ show designed this challenge with the pig dissection in the hopes that one of the contestants would have a dramatic ethical quandary. Television producers aren’t, in reality, all that smart. They don’t understand the process of natural selection. After a few generations, all the people that have been bred for participation in reality shows have lost the gene that codes for ethical quandary.

Tonight is the premiere of an American Idol Spin-off that isn’t really anything new. There have been ‘battles of the bands’ pretty much ever since there were bands. Putting it on Fox and having phone and text in votes is what makes it like Idol. That and having judges whose opinions don’t really matter. The band in the above video is participating. They are very established and their manger just saw the chance for some free promotion. they are not REALLY aliens, it’s a gimmick.

Britney Spears made the following quote back when she was more functional:

“I get to go to lots of overseas places, like Canada.”

The reason that this statement is easy to find on the internet is because it points out her lack of geographical knowledge. Canada is not ‘overseas’ from the United States. If you were in Detroit or Buffalo, you could take a day trip or a weekend getaway to Toronto. I think Britney could try to wean herself off of the media attention that she loves and hates so much if she were to spend some time in Toronto. Kevin Federline was in Toronto when he got the famous breakup text message. The same music station that spent the day with him and then exploited the footage for months afterwards would probably be interested in massaging Britney’s ego for a few days. American movie stars generally love Toronto because they don’t get mobbed by paparazzi like they do in LA.

I stayed in a short let apartment with a kitchen when I took the family to Toronto for a week. I think a B&B would be a great idea if you were visiting as a couple or by yourself.
